Minature Food

I just visited the site for Chef Gina's. WOW! It's kind of expensive but it totally looks worth it. They certainly beat the pants off the cookies and cake I tried to make ^^;; I need to find a glass plate that will fit in our toaster oven so I can try again with Fimo (I used some air drying grey clay) I wonder what they put in the glases to make drinks?
I looked at the "discount" Ebay store's feedback and even though they are suposed to be flawed, they still look amazing. I wish they'd said what the flaws were, I'm curious :)

NO!

The bottom of Kori's face is tinted BLUE. I was trying to remove the face so I could repaint it and I used a paper towel insted of a Q-tip. The black paint all came off but the blue lips smears and stained the vinyl. The face is made to repell washable marker ink and yet a smear of blue paint left for .2 seconds stains it. I am so PISSED OFF. And I can't find my bottle of Oxy 5! That stuff is 6 or so dollars for a small bottle. DAMMIT!

In HAPPIER NEWS, I finished Henry's new hair (The flea market John Smith). A long brown ponytail that should fall to about the middle of his back when I reattach the head. Gotta buy some sealer and fix his face.

Oh, and the money for Eitan has been sent off. I noticed, as I was looking at the Boyz fashion packs, they clothing is a bit boring. A shirt, a jacket and shoes....they all fit that pattern and there's not much flare to them. Maybe it's because it's the fall collection? They need to hire me to were on their designs. Light purple dress shirt, shiny darker purple pants and jacket with matching shoes for Dylan/Eitan. Think 50's lounge singer.

Eitan

I scoured the toy stores. Even my MOTHER started checking for me when she went out ^^;; Finally I broke down and sniped an auction for a first edition Eitan doll. The trouble is that the invoice doesn't seem to be arriving. I will give it a few more hours then e-mail the seller back. He might have to just tell me what the price and address is in an e-mail insted of the usual way. This is my 6th transaction, 5th buying and I have never had this much trouble. Stupid Ebay >.<
I'm planning to look for a wig for him after I recieve him. I was told that they fit a 4/5 (or was it 5/6?) but the local stores go by height, assuming all X inch dolls will have the same head measurement. He might look okay as a blond but I think dark brown or black would be the better choice. I'll probably have to cut and layer the wig after I buy it because they seemed heavy. I'd really like something brightly colored though. If wig making was an easier process that didn't involve glue, I'd MAKE him a dreadlock-y one from colored yarn. Gotta be careful though, the reason why I'm going to look for a wig insted of ripping out his hair and rerooting is because I want to keep his "natural" hair intact :D

Rant-y rant-y...

Grrr....The Bratz dolls do NOT have "Japanese animation eyes" and they DO NOT LOOK like anime characters. >.<
They have large, possibly anime-influenced eyes but if you put a Bratz doll in on a table with a bunch of Japanese produced dolls it will be very obvious that one of these things is not like the others. They are just too North American in style.

Edit: Oh! Something else: I mensioned on Koby's page that the secondary pants didn't fit him. Too tight in the upper leg. So, what I was planning on doing is getting some pant-weight and adding a piece in each side. I'd also like to try some embroidery or something on them. Flowers, perhaps? ^.^

Flea Market :)

Went to the flea market on Sunday. Argh...I hate big flea markets in tiny spaces. I am on a mission! To seek out doll selling tables! But most of the other people are moving very slowly and some even stop to talk, blocking the path >.<; Please do not bring drinks, especially coffee in flimsy paper cups, to a crowded indoor flea market. You don't want to get bumped with a hot drink in your hand.

I almost bought a Barbie from Barbie and The Rockers for 6 bucks. She was redressed but what really made me pass her up was how short her neck seemed. I don't have a spare Barbie body and I didn't want to pay $6 for a broken doll. What I got insted was a John Smith doll (yah know, from Pocohauntus..dammit where spellcheck when you need it?). The pants he was wearing are shot, but he has his original shirt, which I removed the shoulder thingies from. His hair was pretty damaged and cut in front so I pulled it all out and he's about 75% of the way to being a brunette ^.^ I'll fix the worn eyebrows and maybe change the color of his eyes. I know why they sold him to me dressed though. His arms are a bit scratched and he has....I think it's called a "melt mark" on the back on one leg. Oh well, 3 dollars.

About Pictures

I don't like the "list" format of the front page. I'd like to have little photo icons for the doll pages. I'd thought of getting some dollz bases and doing little dollz to represent them but I don't think it would look right.

I have a STACK of photos I need to scan once the scanner is working again. Video looking cute in a Ken shirt, a Pocky ad with my Bratz girls, a photo of my toy horses taken before I redid Bryde's mane and tail...I need to finish an outfit I started for Koby and take photos of that and the other stuff I've made him. I'm going to start up a section for the accessories and outfits I have made for my dolls. It will be a very SMALL section because I am not too keen on sewing. ^.^

The last thing I made for Koby was a pair of underwear. Ugh, I wish MGA would make an underwear pack. I hate how mine poof out at the sides...mum thought it was a diaper >.<

New Bratz

Toys R Us has previews of the new Bratz and Boyz line. "Sun Kissed Summer", where they all have tans, swimwear and surfboards. But best of all, snap-on barefeet!  WOO! The downside is that the barefeet to a SKS Jade will not look right on any other Jade. They might look okay on a regular Yasmin, though. I'm not sure. Here's what I thought of the preview pictures:

Cloe - Normally I don't like beach dolls, but this Cloe is an exception. I find the normal Cloes tend to be boring but tan is a really nice contrast to the blond hair and green eyes.

Jade - ACK! What have they done to my favorite current girl? She looks tarty. If I were anti-Bratz and I wanted an example of how "cheap looking" they were, I'd use this one. Way too much makeup.

Sasha - Very pretty! My main compaint about Sasha is how severe she usually looks. The face seems to be alot softer.

Yasmin - Not bad. Diffrent.

Dana - Not as bad as Jade but still sort of tarty.

Eitan - I don't like the streaks but the eyes are nice. The Ukelele is cute :D

Dylan - People have complained that Dylan wasn't dark enough, not "black enough" so I'm wondering if they are trying to ease him towards being more African American looking. If they are, I think a new character would be a better idea. Dylan's fine as he is, but the uh, Boyzpack? could use a new member.

Koby - Looking kinda boring.

Cameron - It's Cam. With a tan. *Yawn*

Cade - There was a complaint on a doll group about the length of the hair. Is it really much longer than Koby's? The thing is that if you buy the doll and don't like the hair, you can always cut it. Same with the girl dolls. Heck, if it were me designing the dolls, he'd give the girls a run for their money in the hair department. Other than that, he's very cute. :) Brown eyed brunettes! Yay!

Of course, they might turn out to look totally diffrent in person. I'm chewing my nails over Cloe. I'd really like one but this is one of those expensive deluxe collections MGA has become to fond of putting out. I wish they'd make some dolls that just came with one, basic outfit and cost less. Something on par with the $7.99 Barbies. Then I could buy some to customize too ^___^

Setting up the new look/name/blog

I decided that my site needed a new look and a new name. I had also considered:

Pity for Pinocchio
Dolls....puppets...it works. One thing though, I can't spell Pinocchio. It's not good to name your site something you can't spell.

Sweet Poison Cake
"I've got a sweet poison cake..." Unfortunatly so do at least 3 other people.

Peppermint Penny
Yay! Mint! But a websearch revealed that a company making penguin ornaments owns the name. Even though it's actually the name of a COOKIE RECIPE, I was worried they might make me take it down.

Pink Champagne
Too close to The Champagne Roome, another doll site.

Morning Coffee
A nice mellow song. I decided the name was too mellow though, and I don't DRINK coffee.

Lovely Darkness
Like "Lovely White". Except with a name like that, I'd have to give it a dark layout. And I don't want to do that because:

I'm trying to give the site the look of a Japanese doll site. I've always thought they were pretty and they are totally the oposite of the black backgrounded sites I have a habit of making. Light and fluffy! This is the goal.
